My favorite things

Today is my birthday and I am sweetly surprised at how quietly happy I am.

I thought it would be a none event under our current circumstances – but I have been very happy indeed. My beloved partner Stanley went out early this morning to find a few of my favourite things.

Flowers, lip gloss, french champagne and cake on its way… I was so very happy, you know little girl happy. My beloved had remembered my favourite things, in a time when life has been so sad and challenging, which is what touched me more than anything. The simple gesture of thinking about what would make me smile and dance like a child touched me deeply.

Birthdays are tradionally a day of “Blessings” and today I feel very blessed indeed.
