Hello wondrous Souls,
There’s a hidden weight we sometimes carry—a silent weight that tugs at the nervous system, keeping it looped in vigilance, even when there’s no danger in sight. This weight is resentment. Often subtle, it disguises itself as justified anger, disappointment, or moral righteousness. But beneath that, it is a survival response… a signal to our body that something still isn’t safe.
Resentment traps the body in a low hum of stress. It keeps your system on high alert, whispering to your cells that you’re not yet out of the storm. You might be smiling on the outside, tending to your day, even appearing to have let go—but deep within, your nervous system is still scanning for threat, still remembering the sting, still reliving the moment.
And here’s the truth: holding on to resentment doesn’t protect us. It binds us.
I have learned that true freedom doesn’t come from changing others or wishing for a better past—it comes when we choose to release the weight. Forgiveness, in this light, isn’t about condoning what happened. It’s about choosing peace for your own body, mind, and soul. When you let go, you’re not setting them free — you’re setting yourself free.
The body knows. It will often whisper before it screams. A tightness in the chest, a knot in the stomach, a jaw that clenches when no one’s looking. These are the sacred cues of your physical temple, inviting you into awareness.
So I ask you, gently:
What is one heavy feeling your body is asking you to release?
Share it below, if you feel called. You never know who your healing might help. Sometimes our most vulnerable release becomes someone else’s lifeline. And together, as we let go, we rise lighter — luminous, unburdened, and free.
With love,
Elizabeth
