The Human Psyche as a Temple

In many esoteric traditions, the temple has always symbolised far more than a sacred structure; it is the living architecture of the soul. Each pillar represents sacred knowledge, each chamber a hidden facet of consciousness awaiting illumination. We are the builders of this inner sanctuary, and are called to summon and integrate every part of our being, light and shadow alike, until we stand whole in divine harmony.

Within us live many forces that are both shadow and angelic by nature, and move as archetypal expressions of our inner world. These are not external beings but elemental forces of consciousness. The shadow spirit reveals what has been denied, and the angel ray reveals what is possible. Together, they form the sacred circuitry of the self.

When we repress the shadow, we become ruled by it, bound to unconscious impulses and fragmented expression. Yet when we seek only light, clinging to purity and transcendence, we sever our connection to the earth and our true essence. Our mastery lies not in escape but in balance, the sacred marriage of heaven and earth within.

The path to wholeness invites us to:

  • Acknowledge the shadow with awareness and courage.
  • Transform its destructive charge into creative power.
  • Balance it through the virtues of Angelic Light.
  • Align that power with our higher purpose.

The Alchemy of Integration

Modern mystics, Jungian psychologists, and spiritual practitioners describe this inner work as shadow integration, the conscious art of reconciling light and darkness within. My Living Attributes Typology is a subtle yet metaphysical framework that explores how habitual or shadow spirits attach to specific aspects of one’s flawed character, revealing the architecture of the unseen self.

I can say with confidence that this framework offers profound insight and continues to serve as an inner compass for my own growth and transformation. Each shadow aspect represents an unrefined energy, a creative impulse, a potent current that can either bind or liberate, depending on how it is met and transmuted.

When the angelic and shadow aspects are brought into dialogue and when light meets its reflection, a sacred alchemy begins. The psyche harmonises, and the fragmented inner temple becomes whole. This integrative practice involves pairing each shadow aspect with its angelic counterpart according to one’s unique configuration of archetypes, referred to as Light and Shadow Attributes within the Correct and Transform process.

The four essential movements of this process are: Identify, Clarify, Specify, and Unify.

  • Identify what you are feeling or experiencing: Acknowledge the shadow with awareness and courage.
  • Clarify why you are feeling this way: Transform its destructive charge into creative power.
  • Specify what you truly desire: Balance and refine the impulse through the virtues of Angelic Light.
  • Unify by living your realization: Align that renewed power with your higher purpose.

Through this alchemy of integration, the light and the shadow are not adversaries but partners in evolution and the very dance through which the soul remembers its wholeness.

For example, within the Queen archetype, the shadow attributes may express as weakness, jealousy, or destructive qualities that obscure her innate sovereignty.

Yet, in this case, when one aligns with the Angelic Ray of Camael and embodies strength, trust, and benevolence, the Queen’s authority becomes luminous. Her power softens into heartfelt responsibility, and her leadership becomes love in action.

Each Shadow Spirit thus can stand as a gatekeeper, and each Angel Rayas a guiding force. The key is we must be awake to the true nature of our own psyche. Together, they restore the sacred geometry of the soul; a radiant temple where the human and divine coexist in unity.

Shadow Side Of Female Archetypes

The Living Attributes Typology© guides you toward the true and powerful nature of Your Living Goddess… is it tough?

Yes it can be… sometimes it’s a little and sometimes a lot!
We often have to shift outmoded patterns (pain) from our mind and our body at these times of rapid revelation. But it’s in our ability to stay fully present to our own evolutionary shifts that aids our own empowerment and in turn contributes to the collective consciousness of women.

I know veiling or denial of any part of my true nature; my own archetypes, has not been healthy or effective. And this is because I require, as my birthright, to own all of me. I need to own my Light as well as my Shadow. I am Benevolent and Destructive (Queen), I am Blissful and Unworthy (Divine Child), I am Prophetic and Misunderstood (Visionary) and I am Restoration and Exclusion (Alchemist). For me the compilation of these Light and Shadow qualities make up my true nature.

As conscious women, when we are able to stay present to our call, we are actually aiding in the correcting and transforming of the Feminine Shadow that has been entangling the threads of our social fabric for centuries.
Together we can weave a new, stronger, vibrant and respectful social fabric, where we are all equal and acknowledged for our contributions.
The Living Attributes Typology is a tool that helps women re-create a new social fabric that supports women as they grow in their desire to SUCCEED.

But first we have to acknowledge the nature of the shadow that dwells within each of us.

Here are three archetypes in the physical realm – they each have a shadow side and an authentic true quest.

The Shadow Queen uses her bossy, sometimes ruthless behavior to get want she wants… She may become destructive to gain power, which she then hides behind, in order to not commit to the responsible and strengthening nature of her leadership that demonstrates her authentic quest, which is… Benevolent. Meaning – (generosity of spirit)                                                                                   00016D_3

The Shadow Hero fixes her opinions of others to maintain her position and status… She may become egotistical, which she then hides behind, in order to not commit to the passionate and transforming nature of her leadership that demonstrates her authentic quest, which is… Altruistic. Meaning – (unselfish concern for the welfare of others; selflessness.)                                                                        0002ld

The Shadow Healer applies her compulsion for rescuing others to control her world around her… This can turn her into the victim, in turn making her the helpless one, which she then hides behind, in order to not commit to the devoted and radiant nature of her leadership that demonstrates her authentic quest, which is… Resurrection. (The state of one who has returned to life.)

We often find it hard to own all sides to our nature; Light and Shadow, but it is through the accepting of our shadow in conjunction with our light that we get to see how it is the driving force toward our True Quest.

It’s all there for a reason… and when we begin to understand our human evolution, when we can face our fears, our judgments and our overwhelm, we start to see and develop an inner knowing, which repeatedly becomes our compass that directs us back home every time.

Understanding the purpose of your Light and Shadow Attributes

We all have a shadow side or a bad habit we would rather ignore than face. Maybe you overindulge in food, gossip, over react or criticize others instead of looking at what’s really going on.

But imagine there is a part of every human being that has the power to be our teacher, our trainer and our guide, leading us to strength, creativity, brilliance and happiness. Imagine this part of us is just waiting to be seen, to be heard and to be embraced. But it is not patient, and when left unexamined and ignored, this part of us has the power to sabotage our life, destroying our relationships, killing our spirit and keeping us from fulfilling our dreams. So what is this mysterious part of us, buried deep inside our consciousness? It is our human shadow: Our Flawed Character.

Our shadow, formed long ago, it contains all the parts of ones self that we have tried to hide or deny. It is that part of us that we believe is not acceptable to our family, friends and most importantly ourselves. It can be made up of everything that annoys, horrifies or disgusts us about our self or others. It holds all that we try to hide from those we love and all that we don’t want other people to think about us or find out about us. As the great Swiss psychologist Carl Jung says, our shadow is the person we would rather not be.

From its invisible home deep within our wounded psyche, our shadow exerts enormous power over our life. It determines what we can and cannot do, what we will be irresistibly drawn toward, and what we avoid over and over again. It dictates our attractions and our rejections and determines what we will love and what we will judge and criticize. Our shadow controls how much success we’re entitled to create or how much failure we’re doomed to experience. The shadow is an oracle that predicts all of our behaviors, driving the way we treat those around us—and how we treat ourselves.

But our shadow can only exert its power over us when we keep it in the dark. And instead of something to be denied, feared or rejected, our shadow holds some of our most treasured gifts: the essence of who we are. When we bring light to the darkness, we find the fundamental parts of our true self buried inside—our greatness, our compassion, and our authenticity. And as we explore this part of us that we most feared, we become free—free to experience the full range of our humanness, free to bask in our glorious totality, free to choose what we do in this world. Our shadow delivers us the blessing of our entire self.

When we make peace with our shadow; our Flawed Character, our lives transform. We no longer have to pretend to be someone we’re not. We no longer have to prove we’re good enough. We no longer have to live in fear. Instead, as we find the gifts of our shadow and celebrate the glory of our true self, we finally find the freedom to create the life we have always desired.
