We are more than matter, we are the Light that created us

Our hearts are portals for sacred beauty and the archetypal forces that shape humanity. When we share our life through the beauty and magic of storytelling we become more than matter, we become the Light that created us ~ Elizabeth Ellames

Our hearts are often seen as only biological organs, but they are profound portals through which we can access sacred beauty and the archetypal forces that shape humanity. The archetypal codes—such as love, courage, wisdom, gratitude, and compassion—are universal energies embedded in the fabric of time and space. They are the deep, underlying patterns that inform our actions, dreams, and stories, guiding our lives in both seen and unseen ways.

Within our hearts lies the potential to connect with these forces, allowing them to flow and be expressed in our lives. When we engage in storytelling, particularly when we share the narratives of our lives, we tap into this wellspring of sacred energy. Storytelling becomes an alchemical process, transforming us from physical beings into luminous expressions of the divine.

Through our words and shared experiences, we channel the Light that created us, becoming conduits for the universal truths that bind us all. In this way, we transcend the limitations of matter, touching something eternal that connects us to the essence of creation itself.

This understanding of the heart as a portal and storytelling as a sacred act is not just a modern or abstract concept—it is deeply rooted in the wisdom of Indigenous Peoples worldwide. Indigenous cultures have long recognised that storytelling is a way to access and communicate with the spiritual realm. For them, stories are living entities infused with the power of the ancestors, the spirits of the land, and the forces of nature. These stories are not just about conveying information or entertainment; they are about preserving the sacred balance of life.

Each tale carries with it the teachings of the past, the lessons of survival, the promise of our future, the wisdom of the earth and the cosmos. Through storytelling, First Nations people connect with the archetypal forces that have shaped their cultures for millennia, ensuring that the knowledge of living in harmony with the world is passed down through the generations.

In many traditions, the heart is the centre of divine power and connection to the sacred. Through the heart, one connects to the Great Spirit, the Creator, or the divine energies that govern the universe.

When authentic storytellers speak, they do so from the heart, channelling not just their own experiences but the collective wisdom of their people. Their stories often contain deep symbolic meanings, reflecting the interconnectedness of all life and the sacred patterns that sustain the world. By telling these stories, they are preserving their culture and participating in the ongoing creation of reality, ensuring that the Light of the Creator continues to shine through every generation.

This practice of storytelling as a sacred act highlights a profound truth: that we are more than just physical beings living isolated lives.

We are part of a vast, interconnected web of existence, woven together by the archetypal forces that flow through our hearts and stories. When we honour this connection, we open ourselves to the sacred beauty surrounding us, becoming vessels of the divine Light that created us. Through storytelling, we remember who we are and our place in the universe, transcending the limitations of the material world and embracing our true nature as beings of light and spirit.
