Hello beautiful Souls,
Today, I am talking about a symbol that has been aligning with me, and trying to get my attention for decades; The Eye of Horus. Actually, its more likely 5,000 or more years.
See, I have just finished writing a past life extended narrative from a life I had in Egypt, which I will be posting, March 1st 2024. However, on my journey of writing my story and doing some research, I decided to write a blog post about the connection between the Eye of Horus and the Pineal Gland in Ancient Egypt.
Exploring the Mystical Link

Within the ancient Egyptian mysticism, few symbols hold as much intrigue and enigma as the Eye of Horus. This symbol, often depicted as a stylised eye with distinctive markings, is believed to embody the gods’ protection, health, and all-seeing power.
Yet, delving deeper into its significance reveals a fascinating connection to the pineal gland, a small but potent organ nestled within the human brain. The pineal gland, also known as the “third eye” in certain spiritual traditions, has captured the imagination of mystics, philosophers, and scientists for centuries. Positioned at the geometric centre of the brain, this tiny gland has been associated with various metaphysical concepts, including intuition, enlightenment, and spiritual awakening.
Ancient Egyptian cosmology and spiritual practices provide a compelling lens to explore the intricate relationship between the Eye of Horus and the Pineal Gland. In Egyptian mythology, Horus was a prominent deity symbolising protection, kingship, and divine authority. His eye was a potent symbol of royal power and omnipresent protection.
The Eye of Horus was believed to possess profound mystical properties, serving as a talisman against evil forces and a conduit for divine insight. Its association with the pineal gland stems from the belief that it is the physical counterpart to the “eye of wisdom” or the “inner eye” (the pineal gland) through which spiritual visions and higher consciousness are accessed.

Ancient Egyptian texts and iconography offer clues about the civilisation’s understanding of the pineal gland and its spiritual significance. The “Udjat” eye, which closely resembles the Eye of Horus, is often depicted with the pinecone, a symbol closely associated with the pineal gland in various cultures worldwide.
Furthermore, the concept of the “djed pillar,” an ancient Egyptian symbol representing stability, endurance, and spiritual regeneration, is thought by some scholars to be connected to the pineal gland’s role in spiritual transcendence and the renewal of consciousness.
The esoteric knowledge surrounding the Eye of Horus and the pineal gland likely permeated various aspects of ancient Egyptian society, including religious rituals, healing practices, and spiritual teachings. I believe, Priests and Initiates may have had access to secret doctrines and mystical practices aimed at awakening and harnessing the power of the “inner eye” for spiritual enlightenment and divine communion.
While modern scientific understanding of the pineal gland differs from ancient mystical interpretations, there is growing interest in its role in regulating circadian rhythms, hormone secretion, and possibly even consciousness itself. Some researchers speculate that the pineal gland may produce endogenous DMT (dimethyltryptamine), a potent psychedelic compound associated with visionary experiences and altered states of consciousness.

In the contemporary world, the symbolism of the Eye of Horus and its connection to the pineal gland continues to inspire curiosity and contemplation. From New Age spirituality to scientific inquiry, the ancient wisdom preserved by the Egyptians invites us to explore the depths of our consciousness and unlock the mysteries of existence.
In conclusion, the Eye of Horus and the pineal gland represent a captivating intersection of ancient mythology, spirituality, and scientific inquiry. While the precise nature of their connection remains shrouded in mystery, their enduring symbolism invites us to embark on a journey of self-discovery and enlightenment, echoing the timeless quest for transcendence that has fascinated humanity since time immemorial.
I will definitely be taking a deep and focused journey into the realm of my Pineal Gland, Third Eye and The Eye Of Horus.
Here is a beautiful message I came across in my research:
“The Light of the Body is the Eye: Therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body will be full of Light.” – Jesus, Mathew 6:22.
I believe Jesus is referring to that when the third eye opens, it fills the body with light and reveals the light in all of creation. The Kingdom of Heaven is revealed to be all around us and is the earth itself. It was invisible before because the third eye was closed.
Heart to Heart, Elizabeth
